A little lore…

A little lore…

***scroll down to see my first ever “viral” internet post - with a whopping 7 likes (I was so excited) - and maybe a glimpse of high school me 😅

The first time I really got into photography, a friend of mine took me on a photo walk that she had to do for a photography class she was taking in High School.

We were seniors and we met at a local park. It was her assignment, but she let me test out her families Olympus point and shoot digital camera.

I didn’t even have a clue how to work it. But after one shot I was hooked!

We spent hours finding fun places to take pics! We’d hike the trails in the woods behind my house, visit green houses and local parks. And when we had gas money we would head into the city to our local zoo. Flowers, plants, and zoo animals. In those early days, that took up about 90 percent of my images captured.

Things are a lot different now with product shoots, cabin stays, and adventures but I still try to take a sec to shoot the flowers and plants as I notice them and I’m definitely no stranger to the zoo.

So here is a little tribute to the old me - a few of my latest images of plants and zoo animals.

I’d like to think that that old me would be pretty impressed with how far we’ve come. ☺️

And as promised my first “viral” picture - a picture of a fern unfurling with 7 likes on DeviantArt.com of all places. And a picture of the kid who took that picture.
