Midwest modesty is real.

It’s in our culture to be humble, put others first, and give your neighbors the shirt off your back in times of need.

Which sounds great, but often times manifests itself in very different ways. People pleasing tendencies, self-deprecation, putting others needs in front of your own, and even lack of confidence and lack of self-esteem in the name of staying humble and not bragging.

I’m saying … fuck that.

Now’s the time to know your worth. To not only speak those affirmations but believe them in your bones. Remember that you are talented as hell, that your ass looks amazing, and that you have so much to offer the world.

Let’s take today and use it to remember who we are and not be afraid to shout it from the rooftops

Post that selfie, apply for that job, do that project you’ve always wanted and don’t waste any time putting yourself down or thinking you can’t do it!

BECAUSE YOU CAN! You can tackle whatever is in your way and don’t you forget it!
